Thanks to many people's loving support for this project, we are donating $1150 to research on Primary Pulmonary Hypertension, the disease with which Katie lived and fought with grace and courage, to honor her life and those who love her.

Not long ago Katie Noel Parsons May, a wonderful young woman I had the pleasure to know, passed away.   While in recent years I have not kept in touch with her, I knew her (and her dear family) quite well during my years in Moscow.  Growing up in a small expat community within the vast and unfamiliar community of Moscow has a way of bringing people together that I have rarely experienced.  No matter how close you might have been to any individual, each loss is felt keenly, through the reverberations within the binds that continue to tie this community together.  If there is a blessing in this experience, it is to know, to hear, and to read about the light and joy she has brought (and continues to bring) to so many.  I am inspired by her example and those who love her.
