Wedding Dress

Progress continues on Js wedding dress. It took two fittings for the understructure to be perfect, and soon I will cut the dress fabric. What you see above is the 1/4 scale version of the design idea I made on the DIY dress form I wrote about in my first blog post. In the final dress the proportion of the embroidered trim will be smaller, but this gives the general idea. I didn't do a draped version of the back design but i'll try to put up the sketch so you can have an idea.
Unrelated, tonight M and I will be going to a swing dance class at a pub; read about it in one of the copies of Whazon Cork that they have free in various cafes and pubs throughout the city. They also have a website. Wish us luck, we're not really dance-savvy....YET.

you're too frickin' talented ... it's makes me sick :-p
It really is lovely, Laura. Wish you'd done mine, though at the time you were busy with your sister's. :)
And I would be interested in a knit suit...if it kept my boobs under wraps.
I agree with all of the above comments -- the dress is beautiful. I love the gathering and the lacey detail. You are so talented, Laura! I love your process.
Oh yeah, HOW WAS THE SWING DANCE CLASS?!
