Bavaria

Back from a fantastic trip to Bavaria. We managed to pack so much into our 5 days there:
-Munich (everything and more that you would expect from a cosmopolitan European city)
-Regensburg (Medieval pedestrian-only city on the Regen river)
-Walhalla (neo-classical resting place for vikings gloriously slain in battle, according to Norse mythology...)
-March (a true Bavarian village, population roughly 800, where our host Brian, grew up)
-Degendorf (where Brian's parents live)
-and even a day trip to Salzburg, Austria (seated in the Alps, it is the birthplace of Mozart, the home of Sound of Music, and the town's name means Salt Castle, so i had to go for that reason alone...)
great beer, great food, wonderful Bavarian hospitality (and hospitals... but that is a long story), incredible sights; an altogether unforgettable trip and i look forward to going back. will post more pics over the next few days. many thanks to the Kessler family for being our hosts!
