Northern Ireland

photo by PPCC Antifa via flickr

We returned last night from our road trip to Northern Ireland. While it was a LOT of driving in tight quarters, I highly recommend taking this long drive from one end of the island to the other. Belfast was quite a city, full of the old wounds of a historically divided city, still in the process of healing. Above was one of the many city wide wall murals (this one located just a block from our hotel) representing in this case those loyal to the British crown, as opposed to the Nationalists who would have the Republic of Ireland's interests at heart. At the farthest north we were rewarded with Giants Causeway and the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and I will share more pics in the coming days.
