Being Fearless

A Child Playing at Giant's CausewayOur trip north was not without adventures in being fearless; my favorite kind. There was the rope bridge; originally erected by fishermen to access their salmon nets off the string of islands. It's very windy up there and though I imagine it would be highly unlikely for such a thing to happen, you feel as if any moment you may be blown over the side of the bridge. Having had the prior experience of bungee jumping from a bridge at 111 meters, I didn't feel scared, so was able to pose for the top picture in spite of the gusty wind. :)
After this we went to Giant's Causeway, nominated for one of the new 7 Wonder's of the Natural World. It is a truly stunning sight to see all these stones that look at though they were carved by masons, but were in fact formed as a result of volcanic eruptions some 60 million years ago. To read the humorous myth behind the name read this. Bubs and I had a friendly little competition as to who could climb farther up the wall known as the Giant's Gate; I'll let you decide from the picture who won.
