Dream Green

Today while I'm doing some crocheting, I've been surrounding my self with a variety of inspiring listening. I am an avid podcast listener and an Audible book subscriber (I'm currently listening to Blessed Unrest). Listening to these kinds of things is not only conducive to the hands on work I do, but helps me stay in touch with the world, and learn so many new and inspiring things. So a heartfelt thank you to the podcasters out there! Keep it up. (Marisa Haedike of Creative Thursday was the first podcaster I listened to and what a wonderful introduction to podcasting, she's an inspiration!)
Now I subscribe to around 20 podcasts through i-tunes..... ok, i'll admit it, i'm a junkie, but it is a healthy addiction. (BTW, this is all free, and regardless of whether you are on a Mac or PC you can get i-tunes free if you'd like to start listening to some great podcasts too. If you need help, just ask me.)
One of my favorites is Green Living Ideas. Today I caught up on an episode that I had missed; an interview with the women behind a site called EcoBrain. EcoBrain sells pdf books related to sustainable living; not only do you get great information instantly, but it's really reasonably priced AND you save trees (but of course still have the option of printing your downloaded book if you need to). So yeah, I'm loving it.
I've been really wanting to learn how to get this thumb of mine to turn green and haven't been able to locate an inexpensive and concise book on small space gardening. This one cost $3.95. and i got it immediately. um. sweet.

Container gardening is a great idea, we are trying a similar concept - square foot gardening and are attempting to grow veggies.
It's really nice to be able to move the plants around if need be, and not have to dig your yard up in the process!
Good luck.
thanks Wendy!
Hi Wendy. I'm one of the women (Staley) from the podcast! Thanks so much for your nice mention of our site! I also thought you might like to mention to your readers that we are giving $5 site credit to our new members. Here's the info if you'd like to post it. Also, do you ever do book reviews? If so, we're looking for reviewers...

Here are some quick facts about the environmental benefits of eBooks:
1. eBooks are delivered to your desktop instantly. Printed books are often manufactured overseas and trucked all over the country to distribution centers and then to homes and bookstores across the country. Using an eBook saves fossil fuels and bypasses green house gas emissions.
2. eBooks can be read on your screen, or printed sparingly on recycled paper. Printed books use trees to produce. 8.4 million trees were used to print the Harry Potter books.
3. Paper and print manufacturing practises are among the largest polluters to air, land and water in the united states.
If everybody replaced 5 printed books with 5 eBooks every year, together we could make a world of difference! Try out an eBook at EcoBrain.com today!
