Use Your Voice

Today I saw in the news that Alexander Solzhenitsyn passed away. If you have not heard of him, you should consider buying one of his books. Luckily for me, his book, A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, was a part of my highschool curriculum (I attended an international school in Moscow, Russia). It is a story of life in a Russian Gulag, and at the time of it's publishing was of course, very unpopular with the government. Nevertheless, this would not stop the author's commitment to telling the truth of his experience and working to stop state-sponsored censorship.
Solzhenitsyn's life is a lesson in fearlessness, perseverance, and commitment to the truth. Go here if you would like to learn more about his life. It reminded me that in whatever way you can you should make an effort to use your voice to shed light on that which you wish to change.
