Blackberries, Just Like Life.
Friday, August 21, 2009 at 08:51AM So this week has just flown by; I can't believe its already Friday!
Bub's cousin Cara is visiting and we had a wonderful day yesterday walking around Cork, culminating in a wild blackberry picking expedition, the rewards of which you can see above (except for all the ones we already ate of course). Cara, I was unaware, is pretty much the guru of blackberry picking; not only did she give me some practical tips but also pointed out the deep metaphorical value of the quest. Namely, that "the real gems are hidden beneath the surface, just like life." We both chuckled.
On the creative front, I have been sketching some ideas for designs I'd like to work on using my knitting machines. Also trying out swatches and playing around with yarn. Good stuff.
And the Talisman Project has officially begun and there are 16 of us!!! I am so excited and amazed that so many people are taking part (from all over the world!). I'm already loving where it's going, and it has barely begun. Look forward to sharing how this progresses.
Alright, the sun is shining and creativity calling. Have a lovely weekend! (and if you are in Cork, come to the Elizabeth Fort Market on Sunday, I will be there with some lovely new creations.)
