Getting Acclimated to Texas Life
Monday, September 14, 2009 at 12:29PM Ok! So now that I'm finally adjusting to the completely different pace of life here in Texas, let's pick up where I left off.
Apparently I brought the Irish weather with me. It has actually been raining almost EVERYDAY since I arrived here in Texas, which is good, because they desperately needed rain (they had like 70 days of over 100 (that's 37 Celsius) degrees with no rain) so everyone was practically rejoicing. Except me, I want some sun dammit!! nah... actually i don't really mind, its warm rain here, so Charlotte (my niece) and I went out jumping in puddles which was really fun. And I hate to be miserably hot. So its all good. Piers (my new nephew) continues to be totally adorable and so nice to cuddle. I want to eat his little toes they're so cute. (And here's a Texas-ism for you: A passerby yesterday referring to Piers: "well, he's no bigger than a popcorn fart".....love it)
Outside of helping out my sister and her family, I've been crocheting like a mad-woman prepping for the Blanco Market Day coming up this Saturday where I'll be selling some totally new creations and leather headbands too. Of course photographs of the finished products will follow but for now, you'll have to be content with these peeks at the crochet work. I'm super excited about this.
