My how time is flying this year. It's already been more than a month since Cork Fashion Week! What happened in the meantime? Hmm, volunteer work, some old friends came to visit, my parents came for two weeks of driving around Ireland (so fun!), I had a birthday, other people had birthdays, my studio was taken apart and put back together, i ordered fabric swatches for the next collection idea (!!!), and I've been throwing myself full force back into Shiva Nata, among other things.
This past Saturday, I got the most exciting suprise of a FULL PAGE feature in the Evening Echo by Emma Connolly on my collection from Fashion Week. I've included a scan here of the article (cheers to @freckledpast!), you can click on it for a larger view. You can also check out all the photos of the collection from the show on my Portfolio Page (or just click here).
Also I can't ignore that I promised to do a full posting about Cork Fashion Week, and honestly, I don't even know where to begin. Even since the show I've just been so (happily) overwhelmed by the positive response and all the people that were so wonderful to work with and alongside. I can't begin to thank everyone enough really. All the organizers, the wonderful models, backstage help, hair&makeup, friends who came along for support (or supported from afar), the designers (who were all lovely and helpful, not one project runway style catty remark to be heard!), the local businesses who've showed their support, the style bloggers and journalists. When I think about it I feel really filled with gratitude and amazement, and really happy to be a part of the Cork fashion community.
If you are interested in buying a piece from the lace collection (including the umbrellas!), I will be selling it exclusively at the monthly Cork Designers Boutique on Opera Lane which will be starting next month (I will post the date as soon as it is confirmed). Alternatively, you can use the Get in Touch page to send me a message if there is a specific piece you have your eye on. :) And keep an eye out here for sneak peeks of the work in progress for the next collection.

This is SO cool, Laura! Congratulations again! I can't get the scan to enlarge when I click on it - is there something I'm doing wrong? Thanks, and love you!
Hi Laura
Well done on getting a full page feature! That dress is absolutely beautiful - love the dramatic swishiness of it! Good luck for this Saturday. I'm sure it'll be awesome for you, with such a fab collection on show.
