Custom Dress In Progress: for Beata, Part 3

Things don't always go right. That's ok though, its a learning experience. In this case, as I suspected, the neck opening was too large for Beata's tiny frame. You can't tell in the photo as we've disguised it by having the back hang low. Sometimes you have to learn this through trial and error. For example, the silk yarn didn't contract as some yarns do, and the fine lace work of the crochet yoke stretches down with the weight of the fabric. On someone of a larger frame, this dress could work as is, however, for Beata, I will make a new smaller yoke. Also Beata's dress will be short, above the knee, and the belt will of course be in self fabric. I actually adored the maxi-dress version so much I think I will keep it as is for sale and make Beata an entirely new dress. Ok, so I had to try it on too. It's so comfortable. Perfect beach to evening wear....
